Chem-Aqua – Inventory Control Clerk

Purpose of the Job: The purpose of the Inventory Control Specialist is to ensure daily cycle counts are completed, overflow materials are properly stocked, inventory locations are properly labeled, and inventory records precisely maintained to support production, quality, and on-time delivery.  This role is hands-on, detail-driven, and essential to keeping manufacturing operations running smoothly

 

 

Level of Authority:  The Inventory Control Specialist is authorized to independently execute and enforce all daily inventory‑management activities required to maintain accurate, reliable, and production‑ready material records. This role has direct authority to:

 

  • Ensure all scheduled daily cycle counts are completed, discrepancies are investigated, and corrections are submitted for system update.

 

  • Direct the stocking, organization, and consolidation of overflow materials to maintain clear, accessible, and compliant storage conditions.

 

  • Create, update, and maintain proper labeling of inventory locations; initiate corrective actions when labeling or physical organization does not meet standard.

 

  • Validate and correct inventory transactions, quantities, and locations to ensure system precision that supports production scheduling, quality assurance, and on‑time delivery.

 

  • Communicate directly with Production, Quality, and Purchasing to resolve inventory issues that impact build readiness, material availability, or shipment commitments.

 

  • Identify and escalate any inventory conditions that threaten production flow, compliance, or customer delivery performance.

 

Work Environment:  Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with ambient temperatures varying between seasons from 40oF – 100oF. 

 

Work Hours:  Normal weekday office hours are 8 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.  Due to the nature of our business night, weekend, and holiday hours may be required to meet our sales force and customer needs.  Compensatory time off or overtime pay will be offered when these job requirements occur.

 

Travel:  Travel is not required.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Conduct daily cycle counts for raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods.  Investigate variances, reconcile counts, and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to resolve issues.

 

  • Validate part numbers, quantities, and locations in ERP system.  Enter adjustments, document findings and escalate issues that impact production and purchasing to Inventory Supervisor.

 

  • Ensure overflow inventory is properly labeled, stored, and accessible.  Keep inventory stocked from overflow inventory and organize bin locations.

 

  • Assist receiving with count verification and labeling of inbound shipments

 

  • Move, stage, and reorganize inventory as needed

 

 

Additional Job Functions

  • Complete other tasks set forth by Inventory Supervisor

 

 

Qualifications and Capabilities

 

TECHNICAL

 

  • Must have ability to read interpret pick tickets and BOMs

 

  • Must be proficient in transacting material in Oracle / SAP

 

  • Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook to communicate

 

·       Must have strong communication and organizational skills

 

  •  

 

 

PHYSICAL

  • Conditioned to sustain work in a manufacturing environment that ranges in temperature from 40oF – 100oF.

 

  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving for extended periods during inspections and testing activities.

 

  • Ability to lift and carry equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.

 

  • Good manual dexterity for handling small parts, tools, and equipment used in inspections and testing procedures.

 

  • Good visual ability for close-up observations and use of analytical and control equipment

 

  • Good depth perception and ability to distinguish different colors.

 

  • Good hearing ability to detect verbal and audible signals from a moderate distance.

 

  • Good communication skills to work cooperatively with associates.
