WATER TREATMENT RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LAB TECHNICIAN

We’re seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Research and Development Lab Technician who will assist the Water Treatment Research and Development team to test and formulate products.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must have:

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry (preferred), biology, or chemical engineering.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in either water treatment or in the chemical laboratory, ideally in areas related to formulations in liquid form or water samples testing.
  • Examples of hands-on work in a lab environment and experimental evaluation and testing of products.

  • An innovative critical thinker and problem solver motivated by complex challenges.
  • Action-oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented and data savvy with an acute ability to spot inconsistencies in data and ensure quality in your processes and results.
  • Organized and thorough with the ability to handle multiple assignments, plan experiments, and prioritize tasks.
  • A strong communicator both verbally and in writing who can work with a variety of people both internally and externally.

 

DAY-TO-DAY WORK EXAMPLES

  • PERFORM chemical assays and CONDUCT experimental evaluations of new product formulations, raw materials, and competitive products in the lab and field environment following standard procedures.
  • COLLECT DATA, REPORT, AND DISCUSS experimental findings in meetings with primary scientists and research group.
  • FOLLOW general laboratory procedures, MAINTAIN the instruments in calibrated condition, and perform troubleshooting as needed.
  • CREATE AND MAINTAIN all of the necessary documentation (i.e. lab notebooks, specifications, technical test methods/data, etc.).
  • RECOGNIZE early failures and discusses them with the program leader.
  • MAINTAIN clean lab environment and manage lab supply/inventory and raw materials documentation
