Technical Products & Services Specialist

 

We’re seeking a motivated, science-driven individual for the R&D Lab, with a mechanical background and who has an interest in advanced performance lubricants.  As a Technical Products & Services Specialist you will evaluate customer needs to help the Lubricants R&D group develop the right lubricant or fuel additive product for their application. You will support product development efforts by performing lab performance testing and participating in field trials.  You will even have the opportunity to identify new areas of growth and develop ideas into new products or process innovation to contribute to business expansion.  We tailor our products for agriculture, bio-mass, pellet mills, construction, fleet, forestry, manufacturing, maritime, mining, oil & gas, and waste & scrap. Responsibilities:

  • Utilize technical acumen to understand and gather customer requirements and specifications for R&D product developments or improvements.
  • Assist in scoping projects for R&D.
  • Develop strong relationships with Sales and Marketing.
  • Serve as technical expert in areas of industrial applications.
  • Stay current and educate internal and external customers on lubricant industry standards and certifications.
  • Define and execute performance testing, first in the lab and then in the field.
  • Demonstrate products to internal and external customers.
  • Collect, analyze, report, and present performance data to stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot product non-conformances and ensure quality compliance.
  • Manage and communicate risks for product programs and processes.
  • Work effectively with team members and resources to complete project tasks and advance projects through key decision points.
  • Assist in the development of product tech sheets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or scientific discipline or equivalent experience 
  • 0-2 years experience in an industrial laboratory environment or related product application setting
  • Good knowledge and understanding in grease or lubricant applications preferred
  • A self-starter with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Quick learner, coachable and adaptable; must be able to retain and apply new information quickly
  • Strong demonstrated ability to research and apply new knowledge
