Staff Accountant

NCH is established, yet growing and we are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Plumbing Products Group (PPG, Inc.).  As part of the PPG team, the Staff Accountant will control, process and reconcile general ledger accounts, support the monthly close process and prepare journal entries to ensure financial records are accurate and prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Responsibilities:

• Enter financial transactions into accounting systems, ensure data accuracy, and prepare monthly journal entries
• Conduct a thorough review of preliminary financial statements for accuracy and completeness, ensuring all financial data is correct prior to the final monthly close
• Accrue and process payments for royalty, commissions, and rebates, ensuring a timely and accurate calculations and distributions to relevant parties
• Perform monthly reconciliations of selected balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and consistency with financial records
• Work with other departments to gather financial information, answer questions, and ensure smooth financial operations
• Develop and maintain documentation of accounting processes
• Perform other related duties as required  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2 or more years of proven experience
• Strong understanding of top tier ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and finance (GAAP-General Accepted Accounting Principles); advance knowledge and experience of Excel (VLOOKUP), Access and Word.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgement. 
• Experience with Oracle or other large automated accounting system is a plus
