This includes planning, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing all related network hardware and communication links while ensuring minimal network downtime. Responsibilities –

  • Deployment, support, and management of switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls in both large and small-scale and office environments, as well as large-scale industrial manufacturing facilities.
  • Develop and provide templates, project plans, and documentation of proposed network changes and implementations, and be able to explain them to a non-technical audience during CCB review.
  • Work to ensure 24X7 uptime for global network infrastructure and related systems with proactive monitoring using Solarwinds and other tools.
  • Perform trending analysis for preventative work, chronic issue resolution and remediate escalated network issues. Develop and recommend technical strategies and solutions to maintain and/or expand service levels.
  • Partner with management to drive improvements in network process, efficiency and standardization.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (infrastructure, enterprise applications, and internal business partners), consultants, and contractors.
  • Able to rack and stack network equipment and perform physical labor required to support data center related activities.
  • Work directly with Internet and telecom carriers during implementations and troubleshooting.
  • Works with Business continuity and disaster recovery teams to ensure proper network and network-dependent DR operations.
  • Travel occasionally required (5-10%) for various network projects, sometimes international (must have or be able to obtain a passport, able to make long-distance trips to APAC, LATAM, and EMEA).
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Skills – 

  • Must have experience with an enterprise class data network environment, and support of large scale multi-homed connections to ISP networks.
  • Must have experience configuring Cisco (3900, 4400 series) routers and Cisco (2900, 3700, 3800, 6800, 9K Catalyst and 9K Nexus) switches.
  • Must have experience configuring and troubleshooting with EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP routing protocols. Must have experience with configuring VRFs, VRRP, VTP, HSRP, private MPLS networks.
  • Must have experience configuring GRE, VPN, and DMVPN tunnels.
  • Must have experience with various security technologies and services (firewalls, forensics, identity and access management, IDS/IPS etc.).
  • Experience with route maps, URL filtering, application filtering, route redistribution, multicast, packet sniffer/capture, wireshark, network monitoring, syslog.
  • Must have prior experience with significant network segmentation (and micro-segmentation), ACLs, firewall rules, VLAN switching, and all other related requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of SNMP and NetFlow configuration and utilization in an enterprise network.
  • Knowledge of traffic analysis, performance, and predictive capacity tools.


Desired Skills –

  • Support of large-scale industrial networks (PLC segregation, wireless scanning guns, barcode printers, etc).
  • Implementation and design experience with the full Cisco IWAN stack (DMVPN, PfR, WAAS, AVC).
  • Previous experience with QoS including IP precedence, DSCP and COS. Related experience with Cisco CUCM is beneficial.
  • Previous experience with Cisco ISE, Firepower (Sourcefire), F5 ASM and APM modules.
  • Previous experience with 802.1x and 802.1ae.
  • Previous scripting experience with Solarwinds and Cisco TCL is beneficial.
  • Experience with VMware NSX and virtual switch environments.
  • Understanding of Blade Chassis Ethernet and Fiber Channel switch fabric configurations.
  • Highly self-motivated with keen attention to detail and very goal driven.
  • Ability to recognize issues and problems, develop effective solutions and resolve issues successfully within the team and with the client.
  • Must be able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment.
