The Engineering Manager is a hands-on manager able to integrate multiple engineering disciplines in the design and management of complex, multi-disciplined projects. Responsibilities:

  • Lead Engineering team efforts for a variety of medium-to-large scale projects
  • Support/lead value improvement projects, training, process optimization, and new product implementation and compliance initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional teams (may include Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Regulatory Affairs) with full responsibility and accountability for project due dates and costs
  • Develop a process engineering methodology to ensure consistency in the initiation and development of process-based engineering designs that meet customer requirements
  • Characterize and identify necessary resources and methods - both internal and external - to define and solve complex problems
  • Clearly and accurately interpret, summarize and present technical data to management and peers to influence decision-making and project direction
  • Develop, mentor, and coach engineering team members

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Plastic Engineering
  • Master's degree is highly desirable
  • 5+ years of experience, including 2+ years of team management experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying engineering knowledge in a manufacturing facility, with a preference for experience gained in an injection molding manufacturing setting
  • Strong process engineering skills based on sound engineering and scientific principles
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and verbal skills including the ability present technical information to audiences at varying levels of technical ability
  • Demonstrated ability to write reports clearly, describing results from complex process and qualifications
  • Ability to independently manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to overcome obstacles, to follow-through and deliver results
  • Able to effectively present projects/proposals to executive management team
  • Experience participating in the selection of a tactical proposal among several options based on business drivers and economic analysis
  • Must be proficient with Solidworks and the use of FEA tools. Must be knowledgeable in the use of 3D printing machines. Demonstrated knowledge and use of PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA and statistical tools
  • Demonstrated experience with interviewing, hiring, and training/mentoring hourly and salaried employees; planning, assigning, and directing work' appraising performance' rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving personnel problems
  • Experience with evaluation and root cause analysis of product nonconformance and failures
  • Experience with applicable plumbing codes and standards including knowledge of certification requirements (Optional)
  • Experience with selection and properties evaluation of engineering resins for product applications (Optional)
