A little about you

 

You have a science background with an interest in supply chain management. You have a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or another science related field of study with 3-5 years of work experience in a science-based or procurement role. You are technically savvy in your field and proficient in using basic corporate tools such as Microsoft Office.

 

You are customer oriented and self-motivated.  You are able to proactively identify and exceed customer expectations – both internal and external.  You strive to deliver value and provide timely responses with a positive attitude.  You seek continuous improvement and are willing to challenge the status quo.

 

You are ethical and professional.  You are able to represent NCH to the outside business community with the highest standards of business ethics while preserving the company’s upstanding reputation.  You have strong written and verbal communication skills and carry a professional demeanor.  You are comfortable speaking and working with anyone.

 

You are accountable and comfortable with making decisions.  You have a high standard of personal integrity and are responsible enough to manage millions of dollars of company funds as if it was your own.

 

You are highly detail-oriented and analytical. You have the ability analyze complex situations and deliver accurate results with great attention to detail. You approach your work with a zero error mindset and are a reliable resource for quality.

 

Day-to-day work examples

  • Meet with new and existing suppliers to identify new materials, negotiate prices, and develop industry knowledge
  • Maintain item data to drive material requisitions within Oracle
  • Issue purchase orders for the right quantity, quality, and price
  • Manage standard costs and pursue cost reduction activities
  • Approve invoices and manage exceptions to create proper accounting and allocation of funds
  • Proactively communicate to peers and upper management changes in costs and potential supply risks
  • Support requests from all areas of the company to create efficient processes and deliver accurate results
