Day-to-day work examples

We support growth, opportunity and variety, which means your day-to-day has the potential to adapt with you and your passions. If you’re not challenged and growing, neither are we. For starters, though, here are some day-to-day examples of what you will be doing:

  • Assist in the design and development of pilot waste water system.
  • Field testing of current and newly developed equipment
  • Maintain laboratory instruments in calibrated condition, collecting and reporting data, managing lab supply/inventory, and assisting in preparation of reports/presentations
  • Ensure that Corporate Safety and ISO procedures are followed in area of responsibility
  • Maintain data acquisition systems, and transfer and archive data to standard databases.
  • Perform other essential functions which may be assigned by the manager

 

Qualifications

 

You are a skilled Biological Systems Operator. You have 1-5 years or more experience working with industrial equipment, maybe even military experience.  You are generally familiar with laboratory procedures such as related ASTM or other test methods. You are technically savvy in your field, specifically microbiology.

 

You are a hand’s on, “Jack of All Trades”. You love working with your hands and building prototypes. There is no task that is too small for you. You have experience wiring high voltage electrical system, plumbing PVC, soldering copper, and threading pipe, constructing mechanical systems, and programming commercial data acquisition systems.  You may have a degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Sciences but your passion also lies in the machine shop.

 

You communicate effectively. You have no problem getting your information across in word or print. You thrive on working with different groups of people, especially groups from other locations and parts of the world.

 

You’re a lifelong learner. You are knowledgeable in your field but always seeking to learn new information. You grasp new information quickly and are eager to apply that information. You take direction well and adapt your work appropriately.
