Responsibilities:

 

Our team, Maintenance Chemical, works to develop degreasers, drain products, cleaners and disinfectants, hand soaps, deodorizers and air fresheners. We also work with aerosol and solid chemistries and the occasional specialty product.  

 

  • Develop formulas, product specifications, processing parameters and create functionality studies for new maintenance chemicals.
  • Conduct field trials and collaborate with internal and external customers to evaluate new products/system performance, assist in preparation of reports/presentations.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, compatibility studies and evaluation of new equipment.
  • Oversee the testing of physical attributes, stability, and performance of products.
  • Recognize early failures and discuss with program leader.
  • Trouble shoot process issues, operations, sales calls, customer complaints and quality with other formulation groups (lubricants, water treatment, etc.) at NCH.
  • Follow general laboratory procedures, maintain the instruments in calibrated condition, and manage lab supply/inventory.
  • Ensure that Corporate Safety and ISO procedures are followed in area of responsibility.
  • Ensure quality compliance with economic standards as marketed through North America Chemicals and International distribution.
  • Participate in and assist with a trade association event.
  • Perform other essential functions which may be assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Chemistry, engineering or other related science degree
  • A self-starter with proven critical thinking, problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Quick learner, coachable and adaptable; must be able to retain and apply new information quickly
  • Strong demonstrated ability to research
