Aquaculture Product Development Scientist

  • Assist in the development of our research and development program for our aquaculture products
  • Interface with customers to support and partner with our sales teams
  • Conduct independent field trials of our products
  • Maintain accurate documentation for ISO
  • Identify potential IP and take necessary action to secure patents
  • Partner and collaborate with all divisions on new product development strategy
  • Maintain aquaculture systems
  • Develop feed additive formulations


 Requirements and Qualifications:


  • You are a skilled scientist. You have a master’s degree in aquaculture science. A PhD would be a plus.  You are technically savvy in your field and have a strong publication track record.
  • You have excellent organizational skills. You can handle multiple assignments, plan experiments, and prioritize tasks. You understand the value of safe and organized lab and proper record keeping. Strong Project Management skills is a must.
  • You are flexible. You understand that business requirements can change and you can quickly adjust your mindset and resources to address these changing needs.
  • You’re a team player. You work well with others and put the success of the team above all else. You’re highly motivated and flexible. You do well in business-critical high-stress environments.  You are able to openly communicate issues with your team members and managers. 
  • You’re a problem solver. If you don’t have the answer, you can figure it out or find it in a timely manner. You have lots of ideas when it comes to troubleshooting and are determined to fix the problem at hand. You also recognize when issues need to be escalated for a prompt solution. You love being resourceful and can thrive in unclear situations!
  • You have great attention to detail. Even amid juggling multiple tasks, you are diligent in your reviews, dotting all the I’s and crossing all the T’s. You easily catch errors and notice when information is missing. You never let a to-do item slip past you and always meet your deadlines.
  • You have experience in an analytical lab environment and with practical experimental work.  You are confident in designing efficient experiments to meet commercial business needs.
  • You’re a confident communicator. You work well with others and can confidently communicate, whether in-person, on the phone or via email, with a variety of people, including those you have never met. You are comfortable communicating and educating associates and customers on new products and product application. You are a confident presenter and writer, always communicating complex ideas and technical information clearly.
  • You are comfortable traveling internationally.  You realize that aquaculture is a major business internationally.  You are able to juggle local, regional, and global teams and projects to accomplish our goals.


Other Requirements.

  • Experience in biochemistry and/or microbiology would be preferred; feed formulation experience is plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Project, Visio)
