NCH is established, yet growing and we are seeking a full time Warehouse Maintanance Mechanic to join the Plumbing Products Group (PPG, Inc.), a subsidiary of NCH Corporation. In this role, the Warehouse Maintanance Mechanic will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of warehouse equipment for the Plumbing Products Group. This includes but is not limited to the proactive and preventative maintanance to assure the safety of our associates.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facilities equipment.
  • Perform some approved repairs on forklifts, conveyors, maintenance equipment and other warehouse power equipment.  Some repairs and maintenance performed by 3rd party.
  • Provides emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
  • Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
  • Reads and interprets manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnoses problems, replaces and repairs parts, tests and makes adjustments
  • Performs a variety of plumbing/electrical maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Manage parts inventory at the most economic level for efficient operation of the system.
  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work place.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned or needed.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of related experience or training, OR
    • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, OR
      • Equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Forklift Mechanic Experience desirable.
  • Maintenance of conveyors and other automated equipment, HVAC experience desired.
  • Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules.
  • Read, understand, and follow directions/instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to lift/move product that may weigh up to 100 pounds.
  • Perform simple math calculations.
  • Climb ladders and work at higher elevations.
  • Must be able to operate an electric scissor lift.
