Primary purpose of the role:
Act as one of the first points of contact in the DC for the transportation team. Be responsible for timely and accurate freight routing, freight audits and payments of the company’s transportation services.


 


Key Duties for the role:
•    Assure the accuracy and compliance of all inbound and outbound shipments across multiple modes( TL, LTL, OCEAN, and AIR).
•    Update and enter all billing details and related information accurately into computer system; filing and/or scanning all related paperwork accurately and efficiently.
•    Investigate and resolve any discrepancies (including surcharges, rate changes, and payment terms) and confirm resolution with customer or carrier.

•    Prepare International shipping documents to include commercial invoices, country of origin and HTS codes. 
•    Monitor customer service issues, ensuring mutual resolution, while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, carriers, and other business units; escalating as appropriate.
•    Partner with corporate Accounts Payable department on the approval , payment, and proper GL coding of invoices.
•    Other duties as assigned.


 
Position Requirements:
•    High school diploma; or equivalent

•    Experience in preparing and auditing international shipments (preferred emphasis on Mexico and China)
•    Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and Outlook
•    Ability to learn Oracle and other customer web portals
•    Ability to work independently and within time constraints
•    Able to work in a non-climate controlled environment
•    Effective communication skills: verbal and written communication skills including good telephone skills
•    Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
•    Outgoing, team player, and a willingness to learn

•    Bilingual a plus
