Hero Pet Brands- Product/ Brand Manager Of Innovation

Hero Pet Brands, a division of NCH Corporation, has an exciting opportunity for a Product/Brand Manager of Innovation which will be responsible for supporting the development and launch of new product platforms in the areas of pet treats and consumable pet health products.  This position reports to the Director of Product Marketing and will contribute to the success of Hero Pet Brands via managing insight development, strategy, ideation, product development, packaging, and commercialization of new products. This role is a challenging and exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the growing pet care industry and directly influence the development of future product lines and brands at Hero.

What You’ll be Doing:

Insight Development

  • Working with internal and external resources, build a robust pool of consumer and market insights.
  • Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through thoughtful insights, thorough competitive and market analyses and deep understanding of emerging trends.
  • Partner with external research partners to refine key insights and validate market opportunities.

Product & Brand Development: 

  • Develop unique and compelling new product strategies to fit identified market opportunities.
  • Build 3 year roadmap of new and innovative products, packaging and merchandising.
  • Prioritize across Category and Channel (Mass, Pet Specialty and eCommerce).
  • Establish positioning and brand strategy for top opportunities and develop brand creative and packaging as required.

 

Leadership &Commercialization:

  • Manage development and execution of prioritized new products through the stage gate process.
  • Lead cross functional teams to accomplish key initiatives.
  • Work in partnership with outside agencies and internal partners to plan and execute new product launch and brand-building programs.

 

Analysis:

  • Act as the central point for all market, consumer, and customer information.
  • Synthesize, frame and present information to all relevant stakeholders to gain alignment on product strategies and associated action plans.
  • Lead cross-functional effort to establish business case development and presentation to the executive team.

 

Customer Interaction

  • Attend industry trade shows to articulately and confidently represent our brands and products with customers, suppliers, and media/press.
  • Partner with the Hero Pet Brands Sales Team to convey compelling insights, category analysis, and new product recommendations to key retail partners.

 

What You’ll Need (REQUIREMENTS):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or similar fields required with minimum 4 years of relevant marketing experience OR MBA in Marketing or related field with minimum 2 years post-MBA marketing experience.
  • Progression of successful accomplishments in marketing that includes experience with consumer insights, category analytics, innovation, and packaging.
  • Excellent project management skills, including a high level of detail orientation and the ability to effectively manage cross-functional teams with a sense of urgency.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills along with the ability to listen and understand different perspectives.
  • Demonstrated analytical ability including drawing focused insights/conclusions from Nielsen/IRI and other data sources.
  • CPG industry experience is strongly preferred.
