Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate equipment development and production for NCH and all business units in order to achieve a globalized strategy and process.
  • Manage NCH equipment production with both outside manufacturers, as well as design and coordinate inside manufacturing.
  • Coordinate all efforts with external design companies.
  • Assure that internal engineering resources are trained and allocated so that annual delivery targets are met.
  • Deliver reports and status updates on equipment portfolio performance to both sales and senior management.
  • Manage a diverse team of engineers and scientists.

 

Required Experience:

  • B.S. or higher degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • 15+ years developing industrial equipment with a proven track record of delivering equipment to the market.
  • Experience establishing and tracking internal and external equipment manufacturing using Six Sigma or other statistical tools
  • Experience with biological sciences desired
  • Proven track record delivering equipment on-time using a Stage Gate process
  • Ability to balance resources against a program plan using MS Project
  • Detailed knowledge of Design for Reliability, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Service processes
  • Expert knowledge of CAD/CAM software and tools, and 3-D prototyping
  • Experience managing program, project, and department budgets and timelines; must have the ability to create a production process.
  • Knows how to take Voice of Customer and drill down to detailed product requirements
  • Ability to translate sales driven specifications into specific engineering and equipment requirements.
  • Must be able to coordinate multiple programs across multiple disciplines and work closely with R&D and drive technical innovations into practical equipment
  • Willing to work in the field to develop and troubleshoot prototypes and, as well as first manufactured equipment.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15%
