The Buyer is responsible for planning, forecasting, product buys, PO receipt management and vendor/supplier maintenance. This position will help originate and manage vendor profiles and contracts working directly with marketing, sales, customer service, and operations.



  • Reviews and places order for raw materials, finished goods, packaging, etc.
  • Maintains procurement records such as purchase orders of materials/goods purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
  • Contacts vendors to negotiate prices and monitors delivery schedules and expedites delivery of priority items.
  • Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
  • Maintains accurate information on alternative vendors and items purchased.
  • Keeps abreast of market conditions and price changes.
  • Manage Item set up and maintenance.
  • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
  • Ensure shipping and timeline compliance from supplier partners.
  • Work with inventory and manufacturing teams to help maintain stocked inventory and seamless transition of goods.
  • Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.
  • Manage inventory levels to protect company from backorders as well as excess surplus liability.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years purchasing experience including bidding, negotiating, and administering contracts and agreements is preferred.  Exposure to buying in Asia is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory analysis and strong analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Solid internal and external customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high volume environment.
  • Capable of being self-motivated and results focused.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems is a significant plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc…)
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
