Hero Pet Brands, a division of NCH Corporation, has an exciting opportunity for an Analytics and Insights Manager.  This position reports to the SVP of Marketing and will contribute to the success of Hero Pet Brands by influencing strategy through development of consumer, shopper, category and competitive insights. Hero Pet Brands is seeking an Analytics and Insights Manager to join our successful team and will report on category, customer and competitive insights in order to develop category and brand strategies which align with consumer and customer trends.

 

The role will focus on providing in-depth category analysis using Nielsen, Tableau, One Click Retail, ARA Premium and other primary and secondary research to uncover insights for category, brand and product growth opportunities. They will provide leadership in identifying winning category strategies and best practices based on sound analytics and recommendations for the category, customer and consumer.

This role is responsible for implementing and producing monthly and quarterly reports within the organization.  The success in this role is dependent upon one’s ability to synthesize performance data and to extract key insights and strategies that support and grow Hero Pet Brands. They will translate data and insights into actionable and compelling nuggets.

This role is also to support assortment analysis on an on-going basis to provide recommendations for SKU optimization and rationalization. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop a strong partnership and collaboration with Sales Channel Leads and Brand/Product Marketing partners, performing as a team member who consults on how to attain the business goals by leveraging consumer and shopper data and insights.
  • Research and present category insights internally to sales and marketing as well as externally to customers to develop and optimize business performance.
  • Translate category and shopper insights into actionable customer opportunities
  • Gather and share competitive intelligence information and implications
  • Drive the connection of ecommerce POS data output and actioning of insights to ensure success in the online channel.
  • Oversee account specific eCommerce analytics and strategy support enabling team to develop best in class go to market strategies in the constantly evolving online sales channel.
  • Serve as tracking and analysis lead for eCommerce POS performance helping to identify growth opportunities (e.g. assortment gap, new competitors and competitive white space).
  • Provide Merchandising, Assortment, Pricing and Shelving insights and recommendations to the sales and product marketing team
  • Support delivery of formal category line reviews to the customer, identifying current trends, business drivers and opportunities for growth
  • Work with Sales, eCommerce and Product Marketing on Forecasting and Sales Planning
  • Develop standardized metrics, reporting processes and presentations while continually looking for ways to make improvements

 

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience developing business strategies resulting from quantitative sales/marketing analytics/data mining and presenting those results to key stakeholders
  • BS degree in Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business or related analytical degree or experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in CPG
  • 2+ years of eCommerce or digital marketing highly preferred
  • Ability to understand and interpret customer and category insights research – Nielsen/IRI/Amazon proficient
  • Advanced Excel and Power Point skills required
  • Intermediate knowledge and proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)
  • Ability to devise and deliver persuasive presentations, based on data-driven insights and facts, to gain support for business strategies and/or initiatives
  • Capable of working in a dynamic environment, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, prioritizing appropriately and responding to issues quickly and creatively with an open and positive attitude.
  • Energetic and self-motivated - must be extremely organized and detail oriented with an ability to make proactive recommendations.
  • 10% travel may be required
