Chem-Aqua is the wholly owned water treatment subsidiary of NCH Corporation, a privately owned specialty chemicals, maintenance supplies, and services company with over $1 billion in annual sales. We need experienced talent to lead our growing Strategic Accounts Program.


The Business Development Manager will be responsible for targeting and assisting the development of relationships with new and existing strategic accounts primarily in the Consultant, Colleges & Universities markets throughout the United States. They will report to our current national Business Development Manager.

  • Target and assist in development of relationships with new and existing Strategic accounts.  Initiate sales call of selected Strategic Accounts clients and convert existing and new clients to the Corporate customers to Chem-Aqua.
  • Complete the bid or RFP for submittal with review by SVP prior to submittal.  Review any pricing or discounting with Chem-Aqua Business Development Management.  
  • Complete technical aspects of bid in SMARTGuide with assistance of engineering department, Macon equipment group and Chem-Aqua Representatives/Managers.
  • Assist in the startup of new portfolio and coordinate communication between Chem-Aqua and new Strategic Partner.
  • Monitor transition plan execution weekly and report results.
  • Prepare and conduct new account periodic review for customer with Chem-Aqua Management assistance.
  • Assist in Proposals or RFQ generation where applicable.  
  • Maintaining existing Strategic Accounts and portfolio.
  • Maintain and travel to existing agreement contacts
  • Review FSR compliance and report to field management
  • Review FSR written reports and report quality issues to field management.
  • Provide additional revenues to Chem-Aqua such as Equipment Upgrades and Chem-Aqua Services.
  • Conduct periodic account reviews of assigned Strategic Accounts
  • Participate in Assist others with accounts as requested.
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Follow Chem-Aqua Management directions and assist on administrative responsibilities.
  • Submit monthly expense report with full detail within budget guidelines to Business Development Team leader.
  • Notify Divisional manager 2-3 weeks in advance of travel to that Division with details of activity scheduled, with the main intent to work with sales reps and managers in the field on individual locations.  If necessary, coordinate all travel, hotel, and/or car rental reservations through Administrative Assistants.
  • Assist in Accounts Receivable collections, working closely with the Credit Department on problems as they occur.
  • Coordinate and attend trade shows as needed.
  • Send out lead generation report after trade show.
  • Attend Chem-Aqua meetings when applicable.
  • Preferred 4 year Degree in Science, Engineering, Business or Technical degree
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with Chem-Aqua and a proven sales track record with a strong desire to succeed in a sales environment is required
  • Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills with experience working on teams
  • Ability to develop and manage professional networks with prospects and clients to strengthen knowledge of the business, industry, and geographic practices
  • Result-oriented, self-starter, with credibility, and integrity
  • Must be proficient with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Comfortable making cold calls
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skill
  • Travel up to 40-50%
